YOGA INSTRUCTOR - E-RYT 500, YACEP

Lauren Brown

Hi! I'm Lauren, an American yoga teacher originally from Michigan. Growing up I was very active through many different sports, playing soccer and volleyball, downhill skiing, and dancing. For as long as I can remember I have loved physical movement, and what it does for the spirit. While completing my Bachelor's degree in Psychology at DePaul University in Chicago I began my academic study of yoga and tantra. This study in combination with my asana and movement practices led me deeper and deeper in a study of the self that eventually culminated in my studying to become a yoga teacher.

As with most things yoga and spirituality, the more you taste and experience, the more you want to continue learning. After completing my initial 200 hour training I taught yoga in the United Kingdom and the United States, and went on shortly thereafter to complete my 300 hour training, as well as various others where I had profoundly intense and beautiful experiences. One of the main reasons I teach yoga today is to facilitate the same type of experiences in my students. One of the reasons I teach yoga teacher trainings is to share the tools and techniques I have learned with future teachers so that they can then go out into the world and help others to experience their true selves, our deeper, true natural essence.

My passions are sharing accessible meditation techniques for the modern practitioner, as well as facilitating deep healing and returning to the self through the practice of Yoga Nidra. In my asana classes I focus on challenging the physical body, in order to harness control of the mind, and focusing the awareness with the breath. I'm looking forward to moving with you, to being in stillness together, and to changing the world.
