Leila Knight

Leila’s classes focus primarily on physical alignment and harmonizing it with breath to facilitate the exploration of one’s connection to the self in a safe space. She teaches Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin yoga, and is a certified personal trainer. Leila believes that yoga can be a powerful tool to navigate the physical, mental and emotional challenges of being human. She firmly believes that that there is a movement practice suitable for every body, and aims to help others in harnessing their own strengths and potential. 

Leila began her yoga journey in 2011 as a means to physically heal herself. Walking was painful as a result of muscle imbalances in her body. Afraid to join public classes and unable to afford a visit to the doctor, she started a solo daily yoga routine from a book. In a matter of weeks, the pain had vanished. 

A few months later, she gained her confidence and started attending group classes regularly in South Africa, where she was introduced to Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Kundalini yoga. Leila experienced a sense of peace that she had never before felt, learned to recognize emotions and allow herself to experience them before letting go. Yoga had a profound impact on her perspective on life and shaped the years to come. 

Leila completed her 200hr, 85hr Prenatal and 300hr YTT’s in Canada (2014), the UAE (2017) and India (2019) respectively. She is currently completing a BSc in physiology and biochemistry to deepen her understanding of the human body. Leila is also a certified level 3 personal trainer since 2017, and conducts private classes in Abu Dhabi where she lives.
