YOGA INSTRUCTOR - E-RYT 500
Marisa Loughborough
Hi, I’m Marisa, and my yoga journey started over twenty years ago when my parents picked up yoga in Dallas, Texas and started bringing me. Most of the time I would play with the one or two other kids outside the yoga room, waiting for the class to finish, but sometimes my parents would convince me to come in and practice. I remember the childlike focus, without all the adult problems, and I was never sure why adults found it so hard to stand on one foot.
I’m thankful now for this early immersion and the point of view yoga has created. A beautiful lens of openness and resiliency, yoga has played a consistent part in my life for the past ten years. I was certified in Goa, India in January 2018 and since then have taught vinyasa and yin classes at various studios in Los Angeles and an array of private clients and events.
My teaching style is meditative which is why I have gravitated to teaching mostly yin style classes. As an enthusiast for poetry, my love for combining words to create emotion is something that comes naturally to me. Mixing these insights with deep meaningful asana practice, and powerful music - my classes border on invigorating and opening. Hands-on adjustments and touch are rooted in my philosophy as well as sonic healing through the use of sound bowls, and aromatherapy to engage the senses.
I look forward to practicing with you.
