YOGA INSTRUCTOR - E-RYT 500, YACEP

Michelle Lehegarate

Hi, I'm Michelle, an indigenous yoga teacher hailing from a small and remote Canadian town. I am fortunate to live on a stunning Caribbean island in Mexico, from where I have been sharing my passion for leading teacher trainings on an international scale. Over the past few years, I have embarked on numerous journeys to Canada, the US, Mexico, Costa Rica, and now, Peru.

My path to yoga unfolded unexpectedly when I stumbled upon a yoga class taking place after hours at the coffee shop where I worked as a barista. Hooked from the very first downward dog and savasana, it’s been a love affair ever since. Since early 2015, I have been dedicated to teaching yoga and have continued to expand my knowledge and expertise in the field by completing over 1500 hours in trainings. As a devoted pupil of yoga, I am well-versed in the Hatha and Vinyasa styles, as well as Prenatal yoga. I am also a YACEP and have obtained additional certifications in Yin and Yoga Nidra.

My teaching style can be described as a harmonious blend of energetic asana practices interwoven with yogic philosophy, and punctuated by moments of slow, introspective fascial release. Ultimately, my aim as an instructor is to foster a sense of equilibrium and serenity in people's lives by creating a sacred space, nurturing silence, and encouraging students to embark on a voyage of self-discovery within the realms of yoga.
