In the heart of the jungle
Moyobamba, Peru, located in the heart of the Amazon jungle, is the home of hundred of species of orchids and lots of wildlife (monkeys, hummingbirds, and butterflies to name a few). From your jungle bungalow, to the open-air restaurant... from the outdoor pool to the luminous Yoga Shala, you are completely immersed in nature at Kantu Garden Lodge, while also being within walking distance of many shops and local markets. Located by the river port of Tahuishco. It is easy to get around by "tuktuk" and explore the colourful and vibrant city in your free time. We are two-hours away by taxi from Tarapoto Airport (airport transfer is included in reservation) directly linked to Lima International Airport.
WILD WOMAN ARCHETYPE
Meeting the Inner Wild Woman
The wild woman is the primal feminine essence, before she has been exposed to the constrictions of society, of culture, of patriarchy. There are four archetypes, stages, or cycles of womanhood: the Maiden, the Queen or the Mother, the Crone, and the Wild Woman. The wild woman has always been there; she is Kali, she is Lilith, she is the Medicine Woman, she is Persephone and she is Inanna, though the archetype was first coined by Clarissa Pincola Estés in her book Women Who Run With The Wolves.
The wild woman is free and fun, untethered. She carries stories and songs, lived experiences and lessons. This archetype calls to each of us and invites us into the wild in different ways: connecting to our own inherited ideas and stories, passed down from our mothers and grandmothers, our ancestors, generations of women before us, encouraging play, pleasure and fierceness.
How do you hear the call of the wild woman?
Time to Disconnect
We encourage you to take time off your screens, especially your phone, during this retreat. While we will not be enforcing a strict digital detox, part of rewilding and connecting to nature is disconnecting from technology and the distractions and demands that often come with it. If you are ready to go full detox, great! If you have commitments or responsibilities that require you to use your phone, we ask that you do not bring it to meals, practices in the Shala, and that you consciously try to limit your screen time as much as possible.
During the retreat, you will have the opportunity to be photographed professionally, encouraging you to take time off your screens.
A complimentary individual photoshoot will be offered, as an experience designed to make you feel confident, radiant, and beautiful. A photo of your choice will be sent to Lucia Dami, an artist that will transform the photograph into a piece of art by outlining the divine in you and highlighting your beauty with her gold ink. The artwork is for you to take with you wherever you go, reminding you of your soul's glow.
We feel incredibly honoured to be collaborating with Lucia Dami and giving you this gift.

US Citizens and EU citizens don’t need a visa to visit Peru. Please check here to see if you need a visa if coming from outside of the US or EU, and also make sure to confirm with your local or regional Peruvian embassy about visa requirements for your specific country. Upon entering Peru, depending on your country of citizenship, you can request up to 183 days in-country from the immigration officer at the airport by saying that you wish to study yoga and travel extensively within Peru. You can find a list of the Peruvian missions abroad here.

“The doors to the world of the wild Self are few but precious. If you have a deep scar, that is a door, if you have an old, old story, that is a door. If you love the sky and the water so much you almost cannot bear it, that is a door. If you yearn for a deeper life, a full life, a sane life, that is a door.”
― Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run With the Wolves
